Suffix errors

When a PI Alias or PI Property name ends in the same suffix as the replacement suffix there is the potential for a naming conflict in PI AF. For example, suppose PI MDB contains the following two Properties:

• myProperty_Prop

• myProperty

If PI AF Link adds the replacement suffix (_prop) to the second name, the names in AF would conflict. Before migration, the PI MDB to AF wizard checks for properties and aliases that end in the replacement suffix and requires you to change the name or the suffix.

PI AF Link does not check for such errors after migration. If you create object names that will cause a conflict, then you will likely see unexpected synchronization behavior.
