Start pisqlss as a Windows service

You can start subsystems by running Services in Control Panel, or by using the pisrvstart.bat file in your PI\adm directory.

To pass command-line arguments to PI SQL Subsystem running as a Windows service:

  1. In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools > Services.

  2. In the Services window, right-click PI SQL Subsystem and select Properties.

  3. Stop the service and enter the arguments into the Start parameters dialog box.

  4. To restart PI SQL Subsystem, click Start.

Note: This method works one time only. If you close Services, then reopen and reselect your service, you will not see your command-line arguments from the last run. You cannot use this method to provide command-line parameters to services started automatically when your Windows system boots.
