Data Archive Reference

Output from the piartool -al command

  • Last UpdatedJan 13, 2023
  • 2 minute read

Output from the piartool -al command lists archives in reverse chronological order (newer data first). The output lists the primary archive first. The output shows the dates spanned by each archive. Archives cannot contain an overlap in dates. Unused archives have start and end times shown as Current Time. The output displays unused archives in random order.

The output shows the following information for every currently registered archive:

Label

Description

Used

Percentage of archive records used. This is an estimate, as the calculation only considers empty records.

Version

Identifier of the archive's internal architecture. This label allows Data Archive to mount and upgrade archives from older versions of PI.

ArcSetNo

Corrupt

PI Data Archive sets the flag when corruption is detected in the archive file. For more information, see Reprocess an archive in PI System Management Tools (SMT).

Offsets: Primary

Start date and time of the registered archive.
