Export PI Audit records

You can export data from PI AuditViewer to Microsoft Excel or as comma separated values (CSV) to use in other applications.

  1. Search the PI Audit database.

  2. (Optional) Filter audit records to select records for export.

    Rows in the Results grid that have been hidden using column filters are not exported.

  3. (Optional) On the Results grid, select individual audit records to export.

    Use Ctrl-click to select individual records or Shift-click to select a range of records.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • To export to a Microsoft Excel file, right-click the selection and select Export to Excel.

    • To export to a comma-separated value (CSV) file, right-click the selection and select Export to CSV.

  5. Save the file.

    Note: The export process is memory-intensive. Export large numbers of audit records in smaller groups.

In Excel, the hierarchy of the PI Audit database records is maintained using the Excel row grouping feature. For example:
