Continuous mode option

  • Last UpdatedJan 13, 2023
  • 1 minute read

Continuous mode (-f) continually flushes the message log and gets the last messages every 2 seconds. You can stop the program by pressing CTRL+C. If you also specify the interactive (-i) option, then pressing CTRL+C prompts you on what to do next.

Continuous mode affects the operation of other options:

  • If you also specify a start time (with the -st option), pigetmsg initially displays messages beginning at the specified start time up to current time.

  • If you also specify the tail option (-t), then pigetmsg initially displays the last (n) messages.

  • If you also specify the -i option, and pigetmsg prompts after displaying each page of messages.
