Data Archive Reference

Create a new archive manager data file

This command is useful when moving a Data Archive server to another machine, or when running the same point configuration with different sets of archives.

If the archive manager data file is corrupted, first try the pidiag -ara command. If that does not help, use the pidiag-ar command. For more details, see Repair the archive manager data file.

  1. Shut down Data Archive.

  2. At a command prompt, go to the PI\adm directory.

  3. Type the following command:

    pidiag -ar path

The optional path argument is the full path of the primary archive file that you want to use. If you do not provide this argument, the command will prompt you for it. When you restart Data Archive, the file is the only archive registered.
