Generate a signature file

Use the pidiag utility to gather the hardware, network, and operating system information of the computer and to store the information in the output file. You need a signature file to generate the PI license file.

1. At a command prompt, go to the PI\adm directory.

2. Type the following command:

   pidiag -host -file filename.msf

   where filename is the name of the machine signature file.

   For example:

   D:\PI\adm>pidiag -host -file D:\vmtest-xp2.msf
