Import data from cloud hosted ERM using Compare and Update

Purpose

This feature enables Compare and Update to use CONNECT-based authentication when retrieving data from AVEVA ERM through AIS.

Prerequisites

Before you use CONNECT-based authentication with Compare and Update, ensure you have:

• Access to an AVEVA ERM instance hosted in a cloud environment.

• The AVEVA ERM service URL and Environment ID.

• AVEVA Engineering and AIS installed.

• An ERM data source in Integration Service with CONNECT-based authentication.

• The required data published from ERM to AVEVA Engineering.

Set up Compare and Update

To set up Compare and Update to work with cloud hosted ERM:

1. Launch AVEVA Engineering.

2. Configure Auth0 and LaaS authentication settings.

3. Open Compare and Update.

4. Create the AVEVA ERM configuration for the project you created using CONNECT in AIS. For more information, see Manage Configurations and Groups.

5. In AVEVA Engineering, open Compare and Update.

6. From Import group, select the required AVEVA ERM data sources from the dropdown list.

7. Select Preview Import.

   The Compare/Update window opens and lists the retrieved ERM data.

8. Select the required data shown in the list.

   

9. Select Update Database.

   The database updates to include the selected items.

   

   Note: When Compare and Update fetches data from ERM, it sends the access token with each AIS request. If the token is valid, AIS retrieves the data and displays it. If the token is invalid, an error message appears.
