The ISO 15926 Export feature supports DEXPI XML schema versions 3.3.3 and 4.0.1. The functionality ensures schema compliance, component classification, and interoperability across XML and DWG.
Use this feature when you need to generate DEXPI-compliant XML files or exchange data with systems that use the DEXPI standard.
Supported schema versions
The following schema versions are validated and supported:
-
DEXPI XML 3.3.3
-
DEXPI XML 4.0.1
Both versions fully support XML export.

Export and import conversion workflow
You can export AVEVA Diagrams drawings to XML, convert DEXPI 4.0.1 XML files to DWG, and reimport the resulting DWG files into P&ID. The workflow ensures data integrity, accurate component rendering, and schema compliant representation in downstream tools.
Procedure
Export to XML
-
Open the drawing you want to export.
-
Open ISO15926 Export. See ISO 15926 Export in Diagrams for more information.
-
Select the DEXPI schema version (3.3.3 or 4.0.1).
-
Select Export.
The system generates an XML file that conforms to the selected schema and includes all required structures and attributes.
Convert XML (4.0.1 only) to DWG
-
Select a DEXPI XML file exported using schema 4.0.1.
-
Run the conversion process.
The system preserves component integrity and graphical fidelity.
Import the DWG file into P&ID
-
Open AVEVA P&ID.
-
Select Import Drawing from XML.
The system imports the converted DWG files into P&ID successfully.
Note: Ensure that all components render correctly and match the original diagram.
