Prerequisites

Before starting to use the Diagrams application, it is recommended that users acquire some general knowledge about using applications based on the AVEVA Design platform:

• Database principles, such as MDBs, sessions, DB elements, attributes, references.

• Using the command line

• Handling of the Application framework GUI, with docking windows.

• General Microsoft Visio knowledge.

• You also need to be familiar with the main principles of using Catalogues and Specifications. Please refer to the Catalogues and Specifications User Guide for further information.

These functions are relevant for the usage of the Diagrams application, but are outside the scope for this manual.

You must have the following before you install or use AVEVA Diagrams 14.3:

• Install AVEVA Licensing System 4.1 or later and apply the appropriate license file.

• AVEVA Diagrams is tested using connect SDK version 33.0.6

• Install all required third-party products listed for AVEVA Diagrams 14.3.

  • Install the .NET Framework 4.8 Runtime.

  • Install Microsoft DirectX 12.

  • Install Visio Standard 2024 (32-bit LTSC). For more information, see Install Office 365 and Visio 2024 (32-bit).
