Enable auto-buffering

When auto-buffering is enabled for the entire Galaxy, data buffering for individual attributes cannot be enabled or disabled. Application Server will automatically generate a buffer attribute, with the extension .buffer, for each user-created dynamic attribute. Note that when auto-buffering is enabled, the buffer setting for individual attributes is ignored. Buffering remains in effect for all user-created dynamic attributes, whether or not buffering is enabled for individual attributes. This behavior also applies to legacy field attributes, if your Galaxy has any.
To set buffering for the Galaxy, select Galaxy from the menu bar to open the backstage, select the Configure tab, then select Communication.
-
To enable Galaxy-wide buffering, set the checkmark for Enable Auto-Buffering. The automatically-created buffer for each user-created dynamic attribute appears at run time.
-
To allow buffering to be set explicitly for individual I/O-extended attributes, make sure the checkmark is not set for Enable Auto-Buffering.

With auto-buffering disabled for the Galaxy, you can enable buffering for individual attributes when I/O is enabled for the attribute. The extension for these individually-configured buffer attributes is the same as for automatically configured buffer attributes (.buffer).
