Alarm language switching

  • Last UpdatedJul 19, 2024

The alarm language switching feature allows you to format and export various alarm messages and fields from attributes, including:

  • Alarm messages

  • Group names (area names)

  • State messages (on/off labels)

  • Event messages, such as:

    • Attribute description field, for attributes that have the Log Event feature enabled

    • Group (area) names

    • State labels

    • Standard event messages, for example, "Write success," Write access denied," etc.

When you export alarm messages to an external file, you can produce localized files to support language switching at run time. Alarm language switching is supported in both InTouch HMI and AVEVA OMI run-time applications. After translating the exported alarm file, simply import the translated file back into the galaxy.

If you change an alarm comment after exporting the alarm comments, you must re-export the alarm comments. The translated alarm comments imported into Application Server and displayed at run time do not change dynamically when the alarm comment is edited.
