Using the Change Network Account Utility, you can change your System Platform network user account, including the following:

  • Changing the password of the current account.

  • Creating a new local user account.

  • Using another existing local machine or network domain account.

Note: You must log on to the computer with Windows Administrator privileges to make changes with the Change Network Account Utility.

To start the Change Network Account Utility

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select Aveva.

  2. Select Change Network Account.

The Change Network Account dialog box appears.

The Change Network Account dialog box shows the details of the current user account used for System Platform communication. The two password boxes are blank for security reasons.

After you change user account data in the Change Network Account dialog box, the Microsoft Windows security component on your computer may take several minutes to update this information on the Application Server Galaxy node. Until that update occurs, communication between nodes in your System Platform environment may be limited. Rebooting the Galaxy node causes the update to occur immediately.

When you use the Change Network Account Utility to create or use an account that is different from the one originally set up during installation, the old user account is maintained and not deleted.

Note: When you change any data in the Change Network Account dialog box, ensure that all other computers that have System Platform software installed use the same type of user account with the same user name and password.
