When you associate an attribute with a Choice or Option and set it as trimmable, you can use Test mode to see how attributes and graphics will be added to, or removed from, instances that are configured from the Object Wizard. For example:
-
Create a derived template and open it in the Object Editor.
-
Add an attribute: Attribute001.
-
Add a graphic: S1.
-
Add a Choice Group (with two Choices) and one Option. Leave Choice #1 as the default choice, and leave the default state of Option #1 as not selected.
-
Associate Attribute001 and S1 with Choice #1, and disable trimming for both.
-
Associate Attribute001 with Choice#2, and enable trimming for the attribute.
-
Associate S1 with Option #1, and enable trimming for the graphic.
-
Select Test mode. Note that with the default selections, Attribute001 does not appear in the Attributes pane, and S1 does not appear in the Symbols pane.

-
Select Choice #2. Note that Attribute001 now appears in the Attributes pane.

-
Enable Option #1. Note that S1 now appears in the Symbols pane.
