Welcome to Application Server

This document describes Application Server and the System Platform IDE, which comprises the configuration-time portion of Application Server. It is intended for developers who are familiar with object-oriented programming and others involved in the process of building System Platform applications.

Application Server is a central component of any System Platform installation, and includes a run-time element as well as the IDE used for configuration. Most of this document describes how to use the IDE to build System Platform applications.

With Application Server, you can:

• Create, configure, and maintain the objects that comprise your application.

• Implement security for the IDE and your application.

• Collaborate with other developers to build AVEVA OMI or managed InTouch applications.

• Deploy and run your applications.

• Monitor and troubleshoot your application in real time.
