The number of active severity 1 through 4 alarms within an area, including all sub-areas and application objects, are shown in the area object's alarm adorner in the OMI navigation pane (NavTree or BreadCrumb app). This aggregation of alarms lets you see easily see all the active severity 1 through 4 alarms within the area object, as well as all the active alarms on all the area's contained objects. This provides an efficient way at runtime to identify if there are any active alarms (in the InAlarm state), and the location and status of alarms, for example, unacknowledged and unacknowledged - return to normal. This makes it possible to follow a trail from one level to the next to find the underlying cause of a complex object’s alarms. Severity 5 alarms, if configured, are not shown.
