  • Last UpdatedJan 16, 2025
  • 2 minute read

You can export language data for all industrialized strings contained in a Galaxy, or just those in selected objects. The following attributes can be localized:

  • Aliasname

Aliasname is also used by the AVEVA OMI NavTree and Breadcrumb navigation apps, and these apps recognize localized Aliasname attributes.

  • Attribute.Description

  • Boolean OnMsg

  • Boolean OffMsg

  • EngUnits

  • ShortDesc

  • Any User Defined Attribute that is of type InternationalizedString

The export operation only applies to objects that are checked in.

To export InternationalizedString attributes

  1. Open the Galaxy from which you want to export strings.

  2. If you only want to export the attributes contained in certain objects, select the objects now.

  3. From the ribbon, select Galaxy, then select Export.

  4. Select Localization. Select either:

    • All Internationalized strings to export all attributes of type in the Galaxy.

    • Internationalized strings from selected objects to export InternationalizedString attributes from the selected objects.

The Export internationalized strings dialog box appears.

    • To export only attributes that have not been previously translated (differential export), enable the checkbox to "Export untranslated internationalized strings only."

  6. Select Export. The export progress is shown as the file is created.
