Object Viewer advanced diagnostic information

Object Viewer provides performance and diagnostic information about ApplicationObjects. You can use Object Viewer to show performance parameters, resource consumption, and reliability measurements of objects you select.

In addition to viewing an object’s data value, data quality, and the communication status of the object, you can modify some of the object’s attributes for diagnostic testing. Modifications can include adjusting timing parameters and setting objects in an execution or idle mode.

Typically, you will open Object Viewer from the IDE or Windows Start menu. Since Object Viewer is a common component of Application Server, you can open it from any node within your Application Server environment. For more information, refer to the Object Viewer User Guide Object Viewer overview.

Advanced diagnostics

You can use Object Viewer to obtain advanced diagnostic information by running it from the command line. Use the switch /New to display additional diagnostic information, such as internal and external primitive names, execution order, run-time class IDs, and primitive ID.

To open Object Viewer from the command line:

  1. Open a command prompt.

  2. Navigate to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\ArchestrA\Framework\Bin

  3. Enter the command
    aaObjectViewer.exe /New

Note: Since Object Viewer is a run-time tool, there must be a deployed galaxy before you can run it.
