Diagnose

System Platform includes several diagnostic programs and utilities that can be used monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot Application Server and other System Platform products.

Most of the diagnostics are accessed through the Operations Control Management Console. To open the Operations Control Management Console:

1. From the Start menu, open the AVEVA folder.

2. Select Operations Control Management Console.

Operations Control Management Console Diagnostics

• Platform Manager provides diagnostics for System Platform Galaxy applications.

• Operations Control Logger displays the messages logged to the system logger. Two utilities are included with the Logger:

  • Log Flag Editor can be used to assign a flag value to each message category issued by a System Platform component.

  • Log Monitor is a utility for monitoring the status of local and remote loggers.

Other Diagnostic Programs

• Galaxy Repository diagnostic generation, and an associated diagnostic utility (aadr.EXE), can be utilized to collect and analyze data emitted by the aaGR process.

• AVEVA™ System Monitor tracks and manages the performance and availability of the AVEVA System Platform system and the related hardware and network infrastructure. The AVEVA System Monitor is accessible from the Start menu and includes integrated help documentation.
