aaGR diagnostic utility (aadr.EXE)

A specialized utility, aadr.EXE, may be installed and launched by an AVEVA support engineer to consume the diagnostic information sent by the aaGR process, allowing for the capture of a virtually unlimited set of data. The aadr utility preserves consumed diagnostic data in a collection of files stored at a user-specified location on disk. The size, number, and location of these files is configurable through registry settings under:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ArchestrA\Framework\GR\Diagnostics\Consumer

The following registry values must be specified for the aadr utility to operate:

  • Directory [REG_SZ]: Fully qualified path to a directory on disk where the consumed diagnostic data is to be collected.

  • FileSize [REG_DWORD]: Size, in double-bytes, of each file in the collection.

  • NumFiles [REG_DWORD]: Total number of files in the collection.

In addition to the IDE and galaxy events sent by the aaGR process, information captured by the aadr utility includes information about the aaGR process. This information includes baselines for, and changes to, the allocated memory, and the open handle and thread counts.
