About the CSV file structure

The Galaxy CSV file has a specific structure. This section describes that structure.

Objects are grouped in the .csv file based on the template each is derived from. A header row per template indicates what is in each column for those instances. After columns containing general information about the instance—such as its security group, area, I/O device, and scan group—the rest of the columns contain attribute information.

The headings of columns containing Object Wizard selections show the choice group or option prompt. A column header that starts with an infinity symbol (¥) indicates an attribute value that was set by the Object Wizard.

The column structure makes it easy to read the information after opening the .csv file in a text editor or Microsoft Excel. You can then carefully make any changes before re-importing the file.
