The IDE framework provides a mechanism by which a specific sequence of loading among its extensions can be enforced by the developer of the extensions. IDE extensions are loaded in the order of their “Priority”, which can be specified in their manifest file. Priority ranges from 1 through 1000, with 1 being the lowest and 999 being the highest priority available for IDE extensions. Priority 1000 is reserved for the IDE host itself for providing very basic functionality needed for all extensions like, galaxy database access. All Wonderware developed extensions have their priority properly set to ensure that they are loaded before other extensions. In the following two entries from the sample manifest, the priority of a view and a command extension is highlighted.
