Configure AutoSync

Set up AutoSync so that PI Manual Logger automatically synchronizes data with the mobile device whenever it is cradled. Data synchronization includes:

• Uploading tour run data from the device.

• Sending updated tour information to the device.

• Updating previous values from PI Manual Logger onto the device.

  Note: PI Manual Logger Mobile must be closed on the device before it is cradled.

  AutoSync does not update the tag attributes or digital state sets.

1. As Administrator, log in and select Start > All Programs > PI System > PI Manual Logger > PIML AutoSync Setup.

2. In the PIML Autosync Setup window, select one or more of the following options.

   Option	Description
   Enable AutoSync	Select this check box to use the PI Manual Logger AutoSync feature.
   Enable ActiveSync Partnership	Select this check box to have ActiveSync create a partnership with the device when it is cradled. A partnership is not required. Note: A device can have partnerships with no more than 2 PCs. If a device will be cradled with more than 2 PCs, then cradle the device as a guest.
   Enable Confirmation Dialog	Select this check box to display a confirmation window before AutoSync starts. This is helpful if you need to log on and off your Windows workstation frequently while the device is docked.

3. If you selected Enable Confirmation Dialog, in Dialog timeout, enter the number of seconds that the confirmation window remains open before Autosync starts. Note that if you enter 0, the confirmation window remains open, which can be useful in environments where devices are left unattended.

4. Click Install.

   The Autosync installation begins.
