To grant permissions to the SQL stored procedures, the grantor must have either the permission itself with GRANT OPTION or a higher permission that implies the permission being granted. Additionally, the grantor must have ALTER permission on the dbo schema for the PI Manual Logger Database.

If the Identity used in the PI Manual Logger Web application pool is changed from the default NETWORK SERVICE, execute permissions for all PI Manual Logger stored procedures must be given to the different account.

Note: The default app pool is PimlWebServiceAppPool.

  1. As Administrator, launch SQL Server Management Studio.

  2. As Administrator, connect to your SQL Server instance.

  3. Select the PI Manual Logger database.

  4. Select the Programmability > Stored Procedures folder.

  5. For each SQL stored procedure, grant execute permissions to the PimlWebServiceAppPool Identity.

    1. Right-click the SQL stored procedure and select Properties.

    2. Select the Permissions page.

    3. Click Search.

    4. Click Browse.

    5. Check the Windows group or users. Click OK, and then click OK again.

    6. Select each user or group and check the Execute row for the Grant column.

    7. Click OK.
