Initialize the mobile database

If you are using a memory card that has a write-protection switch, such as an SD card, disable the write-protection before you use it with PI Manual Logger Mobile.

Before you collect data with a mobile device, you must create and initialize the device database.

Note: Do not abort the initialization process before it is completed or else the PI Manual Logger Mobile database becomes unusable.

1. On the Manual Logger Client PC, start PI Manual Logger.

2. Choose from the following actions.

   If ...	Then ...
   The Getting Started window opens.	Click Manage Mobile Devices and Transfer Data. In the Mobile Device Tasks window, select Initialize Device Database.
   The Getting Started window does not open.	Select Mobile Devices > Initialize Device Database.

3. In the Device Initialization window, click Start.
