PITag element

PI tags are defined using the PITag element and must exist in the currently connected PI Data Archive prior to import. The Tag field can reference PI Data Archive if copied from other PI System tools, such as PI AF Builder, but it must be the currently connected PI Data Archive as specified in PI Manual Logger.

Example:

<Tag>Pump T250 Temp</Tag>

Or

<Tag>\\Refinery1\Pump T250 Temp</Tag>

Or

<Tag>=\\Refinery1\Pump T250 Temp</Tag>

where Refinery1 is the currently connected PI Data Archive in the PI Manual Logger database.

At a minimum, the following attributes and fields must be defined for a PITag element:

• SelectX

• Operation

• Tag

• TourName

  Note: OSIsoft strongly recommends that you include the Sequence field as well.
