Manage a tour

To manage a tour, you must be a member of the Admin User Group, as defined in Global Options > Security Settings.

Manage tours in the Select a Tour window.

  1. To open the Select a Tour window, choose from the following actions.

    • If the Getting Started menu is displayed, select Manage Tours.

    • If the PI Manual Logger window is displayed, select Tours > Tour List (Data Definition) or press F5.

  2. In the Select a Tour window, choose from the following actions.

    Filter the tour list

    1. In the Search Options pane, enter a tour name string in the Filter by Tour Name field. You can use ? (single) and * (multiple) wild card characters, as needed. For example, *T??? returns:

      • Test

      • Soft Drink Tour

      • Misc Test

      • Chocolate Milk Tour

    2. Click .

    Display all tours

    1. In the Search Options pane, ensure that the Filter by Tour Name field displays *.

    2. In the List Options section, click the Show all tours option.

    3. Click .

    Toggle Search Options pane on/off

    Click .

    Create a new tour

    Click . See Create a tour.

    Open an existing tour

    Double-click a tour in the list, or select a tour in the list and click . See Configure tour information.

    Note: To edit a tour, you must be a member of the Full Permission Group assigned to the tour.

    Save a copy of a tour to use as a template

    1. Select the tour to be copied and click .

    2. In the Save the tour as window, enter a new name for the tour in the Tour Name field.

    3. In the Tour Description field, change the tour description as needed.

    4. In the Full Access Group and Data Entry Only Group fields, change values as needed.

    5. Click OK.

    Import a tour

    Click . See Import a tour.

    Export a tour

    Click . See Export a tour.

    Delete a tour

    1. Select the tour to be deleted and click .

    2. In the Tour Deletion Confirmation window, click Yes.

      Note: You cannot retrieve a deleted tour.
