Configure PI Manual Logger Web Services for mobile

Web service settings need to be configured before PI Manual Logger Web Services can be used to transfer data between PI Manual Logger Mobile and the Web server when using wireless transfer on a Windows Mobile device.

Security

If PI Manual Logger Web Services is installed, you need to configure the security so that users have write and read data access to the PI Manual Logger database. You can choose from the following user account options:

• Default ASP.NET user (Computer\ASPNET)

• Windows authenticated user

• SQL Server authenticated user

Use the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager to configure the PI Manual Logger Web Services security settings. Setup differs, depending on your version of IIS:

• Configure IIS in Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8

• Configure IIS in Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2016

  Note: On 64-bit operating systems, PI Manual Logger Web Services must be running as a 32-bit application.

  Note: A restart of the IIS services may be necessary after installation and configurations are complete.
