PI Manual Logger Configuration Tools

You can use the stand-alone PI Manual Logger Configuration Tools application for the following purposes:

  • To view information on the currently installed PI Manual Logger Client.

  • To view message logs saved in the PI Manual Logger database in either grid or plain text, as described in View logs in PI Manual Logger Configuration Tools.

  • To configure SQL Server connection information, as described in Configure SQL Server connection information.

  • To synchronize PI Manual Logger data with PI Data Archive.

  • To view PI Manual Logger Windows Services status, and to stop and start the service.

  • To set Event Log sources.

Administrator privileges

You must run PI Manual Logger Configuration Tools as Administrator if you need to make changes on the Database or Services tabs.

  • On the Database tab, administrator privileges are required to save database information to pimlcommonsettings.xml in the PIPC\PimlWindows folder.

  • On the Services tab, administrative privileges are required to start and stop Windows services.
