Create a comment template

Create or modify a comment template in the Comment Template Builder window.

1. Select Tools > Comment Templates.

2. In the Template Name pane of the Comment Template Builder window, choose from the following actions.

   To ...	Do this ...
   Create a new template	Click . In the New Template window, enter a name for the template. Click OK.
   Modify a template name	Either double-click the template name you want to modify, or select it and click Rename. In the Rename Template window, enter a different name for the template. Click OK.
   Import PI digital states to use as predefined comments	Click . In the Available Digital Sets pane of the PI Digital Sets List window, select the digital set you want to import. In the Digital States in the Set pane, use the Ctrl and/or Shift keys to select the digital states you want to import as predefined template items. Click OK.
   Delete a template name	Select the template name you no longer need. Click . In the Confirmation window, click Yes.

3. In the Template Items pane, choose from the following actions.

   To ...	Do this ...
   Create a new comment for a template	Select a template in the Template Name pane. Previously defined items are displayed in the Template Items pane. In the Template Items pane, click . In the New Template Entry window, type a comment entry. Click OK.
   Modify a template comment	Select the item you want to modify and click Rename. In the Modify Template Entry window, change the comment entry as needed. Click OK.
   Delete a template comment	Select the item you want to delete. Click . In the Confirmation window, click Yes.

4. To close the Comment Template Builder window, click OK.
