Update PI tag attributes and cached values

Update PI tag attributes or digital states manually if you are not using PI Manual Logger Windows Services to update them automatically.

Select PIML > PI Tags and Digital States.

In the PI Tags and Attributes window, choose from the following actions.

Do this ...
Update tag attributes for specific tags

On the PI Tags tab, select the points you want to update.

Right-click and select Update Tag Attributes for Selected Tags.
Update tag attributes for all tags
On the PI Tags tab, right-click and select Update Tag Attributes for All Tags.
Note: This might be a time-consuming process, depending on the number of PI tags in the database.
Remove tags from the PI Manual Logger database because

PI tags were removed from PI Data Archive since they were added to PI Manual Logger.

PI tags are no longer in use in PI Manual Logger.

On the PI Tags tab, select the points to be removed.

Right-click and select Remove Selected Tags from PIML.
Update digital states

Click the PI Digital States tab.

Right-click anywhere in the page and select Update Digital States.
View archived values

On the PI Tags tab, select the entire row to review.

Choose one of the following actions:

Click
on the toolbar.

Right-click and select Show Archive Data.

View cached values
-
On the PI Tags tab, select the entire row to review.

Choose one of the following actions:

Click
on the toolbar.

Right-click and select Show Cached Value.

View all tours where a tag is used

On the PI Tags tab, select the tags you want to review.

Choose one of the following actions:

Click
on the toolbar.

Right-click and select Show Tour Tag Concordance.

Display trending
-
On the PI Tags tab, select the tags you want to trend.

Choose one of the following actions:

Click
on the toolbar.

Right-click and select Show Trend for Selected Tags.
