Global settings and maintenance

Global settings

You use the PI Tags and Digital States window to ensure that point attributes and digital states used in PI Manual Logger are kept in sync with the target PI Data Archive. You can also update cached point values in the PI Manual Logger database, and send queued data to PI Data Archive.

PI Tags and Digital States tabs

The PI Tags and Digital States window contains the following tabs for managing PI tags globally.

Tab

Relevant action

PI Tags

Displays all PI points within all tours currently defined.

PI Digital States

Displays the digital states included in all tours.

Queued Data

Displays all queued (future) data waiting to be sent to PI Data Archive.

Cached Values

Displays the cached values for the selected points on the PI Tags tab.

Archive Values

Displays the archived values for the selected tags on the PI Tags tab.

Concordance

Displays all tours to which the selected tag on the PI Tags tab belong.

PI Manual Logger maintenance

OSIsoft recommends that you periodically remove old tour runs that have been archived (that is, sent to PI Data Archive) to improve PI Manual Logger performance.
