PI Manual Logger upgrades

This section describes how to upgrade your version of PI Manual Logger.

All users must run the same version

After a PI Manual Logger database upgrade, all users must have the same version of PI Manual Logger PC client when accessing the same instance of the PI Manual Logger database. Additionally, the PI Manual Logger Windows Services must be running the same version as the client applications. However, PI Manual Logger Mobile 2012 and PI Manual Logger 2012 Web Services can be run with PI Manual Logger PC 2014 and PI Manual Logger Web 2014.

Before you upgrade

OSIsoft strongly recommends you perform the following actions before you upgrade your version of PI Manual Logger:

• Back up your database.

• Send all existing tour run data to PI Data Archive from PI Manual Logger PC and/or from PI Manual Logger Mobile.

PI Manual Logger 1.x

An upgrade from PI Manual Logger 1.x is not supported. OSIsoft recommends that you remove version 1.x of PI Manual Logger from the system before installing PI Manual Logger 3.x. PI Manual Logger 1.x database information can be upgraded to the PI Manual Logger 3.x database with some limitations.
