PI Manual Logger

User groups

Administrative user group members can perform the following tasks:

  • Manage the user database

  • Manage global options and settings

  • Manage the SQL Server and PI Data Archive connections

  • Create tours

Administrative user group members need to create user groups that are intended only for those users whose task it will be to perform tour configuration editing and data entry on specific tours. However, they cannot edit tour configurations or collect tour run data unless they are a member of the groups assigned to the tour.

PIMLADMINS administrative user group

A default administrative user group called PIMLADMINS is created when PI Manual Logger is installed. Initially, it contains a single user called piml, although you can assign other users to whom you want to assign administrative user group privileges.

User group association with tours

You use the Tour Info pane in the Tour Definition window to assign an administrative user group and a data entry user group to each tour.
