Create or upgrade the PI Vision database

When you are performing a new PI Vision installation or a version upgrade, after you successfully run the installer you must create or upgrade your PI Vision database prior to using the PI Vision application. The PI Vision database is where all PI Vision configurations are stored.

The options for creating or upgrading your PI Vision database are different depending on the database platform that you use:

SQL Server (on-premises) - There are two ways to create or upgrade your PI Vision database. The recommended method is to use the PI Vision Administration website. However, if that is not successful, you can run the Go.ps1 script on your SQL Server machine.

Azure SQL Database or Amazon RDS for SQL Server (cloud based) - You must run the Go.ps1 script to create or upgrade your PI Vision database.
