Configure web browsers for PI Vision clients

Note: This section doesn't apply if installing in an environment whose end users only use OpenID Connect authentication.

To use web browsers for AVEVA PI Vision clients, Windows authentication has to be enabled in the browser. Follow these instructions to enable Windows authentication for Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.

Verify Windows authentication is enabled for Chrome and Edge

  1. To check that Windows authentication is enabled for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options.

    Note: The option to Enable Integrated Windows Authentication is usually enabled by default.

  2. Select the Advanced tab.

  3. Select the check box for Enable Integrated Windows Authentication, and then select OK.

Enable Kerberos authentication for Firefox

  1. To enable Kerberos authentication for Mozilla Firefox, open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar.

  2. Enter network.negotiate in the Search field to filter the list.

  3. Find and select network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris.

  4. In the Enter string value window, enter your domain name and select OK.
