Migrate your database to the cloud

You can migrate your PI Vision database to either Azure SQL Database or to Amazon RDS, to take advantage of a cloud-based platform.

Note: Azure SQL Managed Instance is supported by PI Vision however the migration process has not been tested. This section provides instructions only for migrating to Azure SQL Database and Amazon RDS.

A cloud-based database can provide the following benefits:

• Delegation of server and administrative tasks such as patching, updates, and backups.

• High availability.

• Dynamically adjusted compute sizes to match your organization's throughput needs and workloads.
