When working in Design mode, you can select, move, copy/paste multiple symbols. Once multiple symbols are selected, you can group them into a single object. You can also edit multiple symbols at once, allowing you to apply the same edits to all selected symbols.

  1. To select multiple symbols on your display, you can:

    • Click an empty area of the screen, hold down the mouse button, and drag your cursor over the section of the display that contains the symbols you want to select.

    • Hold CTRL and click on each of the symbols you want to select.

Or, to select all the symbols on the display at once, press CTRL + A.

  2. To edit the selected symbols, right-click and select Format Symbols. The Format Symbols pane opens where you can edit the properties as needed. Some symbol properties may not be available to edit, as there are some properties that can be edited only when a single symbol is selected. If a property's value is blank, it means that the value exists for more than one of the selected symbols, but it is currently set to different values for those symbols. For more information about each available property, refer to the information about the specific types of symbols that you are working with.

To group selected symbols into a single object, right-click one of the selected symbols and select Group Symbols.

You can move the group by clicking anywhere inside the group.

Once you group objects on the display, you can:

    • Select and edit any individual symbol inside the group by click the group and then clicking the symbol you want to select.

    • Save the group by saving the display.

    • Move the group in Design mode by dragging the object anywhere on the display.

To ungroup the symbols, right-click the group and click Ungroup Symbols
