Software requirements for PI Vision application server

The requirements for the software on the machine hosting the AVEVA PI Vision application server are:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2016 up to and including Microsoft Windows Server 2025, including Server Core versions

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

• IIS 8.0 or later

• If using on-premises Microsoft SQL Server that resides on the PI Vision application server, see Microsoft SQL Server requirements for details.

• Windows PowerShell (required only during installation only and, if needed, to run the Go.ps1 script to configure the PI Vision SQL database from the PI Vision application server)

  Note: Windows PowerShell is installed and enabled in Windows by default.

• Destination drive formatted to NTFS

  Note: Installation of AVEVA PI Vision on a Domain Controller is not supported.
