Note: This section only applies if installing in an environment whose end users only use OpenID Connect authentication and you selected the authentication option Use OpenID Connect with Process Identity Client ID for the PI Vision Connection to PI Data Archive and AF Servers. (This is the only valid selection if your PI Vision server is not installed on a domain.) Otherwise, proceed to Configure security.
-
Open PI System Explorer.
-
Select the Database button.
The Select Database dialog box opens and lists all PI AF databases in the currently connected PI AF server.
-
If the currently connected PI AF server is the server to which you want to configure access, skip this step. Otherwise, right-click on the name of the server you want to configure in the list and choose Connect.
-
Right-click the PI AF database and choose Security.
The Permissions dialog box for that database opens.
-
Select Add.
The Identities dialog box opens.
-
Select the identity that the Process Identity Client account has been mapped to.
-
In the Permissions field, check the Read check box in the Allow column.
-
Select OK.
