Storage space

Software on AVEVA PI Vision application server

SQL Server

If using Microsoft SQL Server:

Refer to Microsoft SQL Server requirements.

If using Azure SQL Database or Amazon RDS:

You do not have a choice of version and there are no specific recommendations or requirements;

Required SQL privileges

Refer to Required SQL permissions.

PI System

Refer to PI System requirements for PI Vision.

SSL digital certificate

After installation, specify a certificate that you have purchased from a certificate authority. You must have an SSL digital certificate to complete installation.

PI AF server name

During installation, you need to specify the name of the default PI AF server.

Ability to create the PI Vision SQL database

You can create or upgrade a database directly from the PI Vision Administration website if you use an on-premises SQL Server database and any one of the following conditions applies:

• Kerberos delegation is configured between the AVEVA PI Vision application server and the SQL Server computer.

• The AVEVA PI Vision database is located on the same computer as the AVEVA PI Vision application server.

• You are running your browser locally on the same computer as the AVEVA PI Vision application server.

  If you use a cloud-based database or otherwise cannot directly create or upgrade a database from the PI Vision Administration website, you must manually run the Go.ps1 script to configure to create or upgrade the database.
