Check PI Vision status

Use the AVEVA PI Vision Administration website to check the status of your AVEVA PI Vision installation and make configuration updates. The Overview page shows you a current snapshot of the following information:

• PI Vision Database—shows the SQL Server instance and the AVEVA PI Vision database.

  The Status column displays a green checkmark if the AVEVA PI Vision application server can connect to the AVEVA PI Vision database running on SQL Server. A yellow warning triangle indicates an SSL certificate name mismatch. Check that the server name matches a name in the Subject or Subject Alternative Name field of the certificate.

• Data Servers Allowed—Data Archive servers that are used by AVEVA PI Vision for searching and retrieving data. Additionally, the current user of the AVEVA PI Vision Administration website as well as the application pool identity are shown for each allowed Data Archive server.

  The Status column shows a green checkmark if the application pool account can connect to the Data Archive server.

• Asset Servers/Databases Allowed—AF Servers and corresponding databases that are used by AVEVA PI Vision for searching and retrieving data.

  The Status column shows a green checkmark if the application pool account can connect to the PI AF database.

• File Version Status—indicates whether all file versions meet minimum requirements.

To make configuration updates, select Manage Configuration next to the appropriate list. Alternatively, you can use the navigation tabs at left. For example, to make a Data Archive server available to your users' searches, you need to change its status to Allowed. Therefore, select Manage Configuration next to PI Servers Allowed and on the Configuration page that opens you can add or remove access to any Data Archive server that is available on the AVEVA PI Vision application server.

The Version Information link at top right opens a list showing the versions of all software components that are installed to run AVEVA PI Vision. The Connection Status column indicates whether a file exists and meets the minimum version requirements.
