You can add items to an ad hoc trend display in the Ad Hoc Workspace a few different ways. The data that you add to the Ad Hoc Workspace is saved only for that current browser session; if you navigate away from the Ad Hoc Workspace and later return to it, the data and any other selected options are retained as long as you are still within the same browser session.
Note: PI AF attributes, PI tags, and display-level calculations are supported data sources for ad hoc trends.
Add data while within the Ad Hoc Workspace
By following the steps below and starting from the Ad Hoc Workspace, you can add data to the Ad Hoc Workspace by searching or navigating the Assets pane that appears in the workspace.
Note: Refer to the next section below if you are not familiar with your data structure and, for example, you want to add data to the Ad Hoc Workspace that appears in your displays instead of finding that data in the Assets pane.
-
Select the Open Ad Hoc Workspace button
in the toolbar at the top of the page to open the Ad Hoc Workspace.
-
Search or navigate the Assets pane to find the data that you want to add to view in the Ad Hoc Workspace. If the Assets pane does not appear, select the search button
to open the pane.
-
Right-click a data item in the Assets pane that you wish to view and select Add to Ad Hoc, or you can drag and drop data items onto the workspace. You can continue to add multiple data items if desired.
Add data from elsewhere in PI Vision
Instead of starting from the Ad Hoc Workspace, you can alternatively start by going to where you know that the data of interest appears, such as in a display, and add it to the Ad Hoc Workspace from there.
-
Find the data that you want to add to the Ad Hoc Workspace. You can add any of the items that are listed in the table below.
