Add data point (event) to stream

You can manually write data points to a stream by completing a form. In this context, a data point and an event mean the same thing: a single row of stream data, such as property values associated with a timestamp. This use of event refers only to stream data and should not be confused with an Event Management event. Use this feature for manual data entry.

  1. In the navigation rail, select Data stores.

  2. From the Change data store dropdown, verify that the data store instance containing the resources and data you want to work with is selected.

  3. Select the Streams card.

  4. From the data table, select the stream that you want to add a data point to.

  5. From the side sheet, select More options and then select View.

  6. Select Add Event.

  7. Complete the Add Event form, entering a value for each stream property. The fields for the form differ based on the stream type that the stream derives from.

Tip: Each field in the form lists the primitive data type valid for the property.

  8. Select Save.
