Assign streams to site

Assign streams to a site to organize their data under the real-world location that the site represents. A site represents a physical or operational location, such as a plant, factory, or other facility, and provides a boundary for services, data, and access within that location. Assigning streams to a site limits stream access to only people with permitted by the site.
Streams imported in a staging area, such as those from a PI bulk import, have no assigned site until you associate them with one. You can also use this procedure to move streams from one site to another.
Important: A stream's associated site controls who can access it. After you associate a stream with a site, only users with access to that site can view or use the stream. If you move a stream to another site, users who can access the original site lose access to it, and users with access to the new site gain access. Before you change a stream's site, make sure that the right users have access to the new site.
To assign streams to a site
-
In the navigation rail, select Data stores.
-
From the Change data store dropdown, verify that the data store instance containing the resources and data you want to work with is selected.
-
Select the Streams card.
-
Select the streams that you want to associate with a site and choose Assign to site. Streams can only be assigned to a single site.
-
Select the site that you want to assign the streams to and choose Add.
The streams are assigned to the selected site.
Important: Editing a stream's assigned site does not change the geography of the stream, only the site that the stream is assigned to.
