This section details data requirements for compatibility with visualization components.

Map requirements

To appear on the map, an asset must have the following information:

  • Location โ€“ The location of the asset must be specified in either its asset metadata or asset stream references. Use asset metadata for static location attributes, or asset stream references for dynamic location attributes.

The asset's location must consist of a latitude property and longitude property. These properties must be named as follows:

    • Latitude โ€“ latitude, lat, or y

    • Longitude โ€“ longitude, long, lon, or x

These property names are case sensitive.

If multiple matches are found, the first match is used.

  • Type โ€“ The appearance of the marker for an asset is determined by its type. Each type has a corresponding asset type layer in the map where you can configure the appearance and behavior of the markers for all assets of that type. The appearance of each asset type layer is configured in the Advanced tab.
