This content item displays summarized data.

Data shown in a multicolored horizontal bar chart

Configure the following properties for this content item:

  • In the Basic tab:

    • Follow asset context - When this is enabled:

      • If this content is in a dashboard, it uses the dashboard's asset context as the asset for asset stream ref data. For details, see Create a new dashboard.

      • If this content is in an experience, it uses the navigation item's asset reference as the asset for asset stream ref data. For details, see the Add content to a pane section in Add content to panes in your navigation items.

This property only affects asset stream ref data; it has no effect if the content item is configured with stream data.

    • Follow time context - When this is enabled:

      • If this content is in a dashboard, it uses the dashboard's time context as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Add content to panes in your navigation items.

      • If this content is in an experience, it uses the time selected in the time selector content item as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Add a time selector.

    • Time - If Follow time context is disabled, select the time range for the data displayed in the content item.

    • Add data - Select data items to include in this content item. You can search for data items by name, by filter, or both.

      • To search by name, enter a value in the Search for data field.

      • To apply filters, select Filter icon to view and select filters. Select Back icon to accept your selected filters and return to the previous search panel.

      • To add a single data item, select that item's name. To add multiple data items, check the box for each, then select Add data.

      • For stream or asset stream references, selecting the item’s name expands its list of properties and selects Value only. Selecting the checkbox expands the list and selects all properties. Select or clear properties as needed.

    • Configure data - After data items have been added, select expand to configure each data item:

      • Decimal places: Select the number of decimal places to show in the tooltip for this data.

  • In the Advanced tab:

    • Title - The title that displays for this content item. This property is only available in grid dashboards; content items do not display titles in canvas dashboards or experiences.

    • Statistic - The metric to use for the data. See Understand statistic options for details.

    • Sort by - The order in which to display the selected data items.

    • Group by unit - When enabled, organizes the selected data properties into groups based on their units of measure, so properties using the same unit are presented together. When disabled, properties are displayed in the visualization’s default arrangement, without being grouped by unit. This option changes how the data is organized for display. It does not combine the properties or convert their values.

    • Empty Interval Mode - Controls how summary statistics are returned if the interval does not contain any data points.

      • Use boundary interpolation - Estimates values at the interval edges from nearby data, then uses those estimates to calculate the summaries.

      • Show no value - Leaves the summary values blank when an interval contains no data. The count shown is No data.
