Add traces side sheet

Use the Add Traces side sheet to add traces to the trend session after switching to another service instance.

To add traces to a trend session

1. From the Add Traces side sheet, select the Search field and enter criteria to find streams to add to the trend session as traces.

   For more information about search syntax, see Search below.

2. Add one or more traces to the trend session.

   To add traces to the trend session, select Add Trace for the stream that you want to add.

Search

Use the Search field to find streams to add to your trend session as a trace.

When the search field is active, it displays reference to assist you in searching for traces. It also lists the last search term used.

You can search for streams by:

• Term: a generic search term, identifier, name, description, type identifier, or metadata. Wildcards (*) are supported.

• Filters: You can add a filter label to search for traces based on a facet of the trace. While the reference is displayed, you can click the filter links to populate the search field with that filter. Supported filters include:

  • id:[stream id]

  • name:[stream name]

  • description:stream description]

  • typeId:[stream type id]

  • metadataKey:[stream metadata]

• Operators: Combine search terms using operators to refine search results. Supported operators are:

  • AND

  • NOT

  • OR

• Multiple Terms: Search for multiple terms at once.
