Create your first site

Before you create your first site in CONNECT, consider the operational implications. After you create a site, you cannot delete it.

If you are new to CONNECT and your account is empty, the decisions you make about data residency determine the geography of your sites. You must also choose where the CONNECT global services and the data store reside.

Note: After you select a geography, you cannot change the geography of the global services or data store.

Create your first site

1. From the navigation rail, select Account, and then select Sites.

2. Select Create site.

3. Set the platform services geography. For more information about managing geographies, refer to Manage geographies.

   Because this is your first site, CONNECT deploys global services and a data store for your account. Select the geography that best represents the location of the first site.

4. On the Create Site page, set the following:

   • Name

   • (Optional) Description

   • Thumbnail

   • (Optional) Location

     The Location setting does not affect where data is stored. Use it only to represent the physical address of the real-world site.

   • (Optional) Location alias

5. Select Create.

Your first site is created and all global services associated with your edition are automatically deployed.
