This document provides a comprehensive reference table of all Units of Measure (UOMs) available in the CONNECT Stream Management service. Each UOM represents a standardized way to express quantities such as length, mass, time, temperature, and more. These units are essential for ensuring consistency, interoperability, and accuracy across all data stored and processed within CONNECT.
Where these UOMs are used
Units of measure are used throughout the platform to define and interpret the values of stream and type properties. The Get units of measure endpoint returns the full list of available UOMs, while Get unit of measure by ID provides details for a specific unit. You can also retrieve measurable quantities and their associated UOMs using Get measurement quantities and Get units of measure for a specific quantity endpoints. For more information on these endpoints, see Stream Management.
When defining streams or types, you can optionally assign the UOMs listed below to properties, enabling automatic unit conversion and ensuring that data is always interpreted in the correct context. The system uses these UOMs to perform conversions between compatible units both when writing and reading data, so a value stored in one unit can be retrieved in another if both are defined and convertible. This is critical for data validation, transformation, and for supporting a wide range of industrial and scientific use cases.
How to use this table
Use the table to look up valid UOM IDs, names, abbreviations, and conversion factors when configuring streams, types, or when building integrations. Ensure that any UOM specified in API requests or data models matches one of the entries in this table. Use the conversion factors and offsets provided to convert values between units as needed for your application.
Note: The table below provides a comprehensive list of units of measure available at the time this document was published. As CONNECT evolves, new units may be added or existing ones updated. For the most current and authoritative list of units, you can always make a request to the Get units of measure endpoint.
